Our Services

Treatment is Easy!

At your first visit to Dental First Corp, be prepared to fill out the paper work.  It takes about 15 minutes or longer. If you have x-rays from a previous dentist, please bring them with you. If not, we will take a full set of digital x-rays that the dentist will use to do a Comprehensive Exam.  Next, our hygienist will go over your medical history,  take

measurements of your periodontal health by doing pocket probings and explain what your probings mean.  Probing lets us know if you have any gum disease such as Gingivitis or Periodontal Disease.  If you have pockets less than 4 mm, the hygienist will scale and polish your teeth. If your pockets are greater than 5 mm, we will discuss treatment options for Periodontal Disease.

The dentist will go over your medical and dental history again with you, so please bring a list of all your medications. Medical conditions and medication can affect your oral health. If necessary, we may have to speak to your doctor first before we can treat you. Also bring your old dental work, dentures or partials even if they don’t fit anymore or are broken. This is the time to discuss any issues you may have on your mind.  The dentist will examine your mouth visually and chart in the computer any noted concerns such as missing teeth, sores, decay or broken fillings, etc. We also do an oral cancer screening, looking for any abnormalities of the head, neck and oral cavity. At this point, the doctor will go over your oral health needs and discuss treatment alternatives. Once you choose a course of action or treatment plan, our Front Desk will go over your insurance and payment plans then make your next appointment. If you have children, we will exam them, clean their teeth and place fluoride.  If needed we will take their x-rays and do sealants. See Treatment is Easy!

Holistic Dentistry

Holistic Dentistry for the health conscious person. We offer holistic (not biologic) dentistry. Oral Health, The Gateway to a Healthy Heart!™

The doctor reviews your medical and dental history to determine any risk factors that may affect your oral health such as smoking, diabetes and high blood pressure. We do screenings for high/low blood pressure and sugar and work closely with your physician.

Do you want metal and mercury free dentistry with little chemicals?  We can help! For the mercury conscious patient, we offer an additional safe system for removing amalgam fillings and a simple detox program to cleanse the body. We replace those fillings with non-metal alternatives and also have non-metal alternatives for partials, crowns and bridges.

Do you want natural alternatives?   We can help!  Just tell the doctor your concerns. We work with holistic medical doctors and herbalists to ensure your total body wellness. We sell supplements and supplies that will enhance your body's ability to achieve optimal oral health.

Root Canals

Root Canals save your teeth! When a tooth has large decay or is abscessed/infected, to keep the tooth we must do a root canal. Root canals remove the nerve from your tooth and replace it with a filler called gutta percha. Then we build the tooth back up and place a crown over it.  For complex teeth we may send you to a specialist called an Endodontist.

Extractions

At Dental First Corp, our goal is to save teeth.  We strive to keep your smile happy, healthy and strong.  If a tooth needs extraction, we will determine if the tooth can be extracted in the office or referred to one of our Oral Surgeons. Of course, before we start, we will work with you to decide which type of tooth replacement will best suit your needs.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and Bridges.

Restoring worn, broken down, missing teeth, root canal teeth and implants is more effective with modern technology. For the aesthetic patient, we use Ceramic metal-free crowns and “Captek” crowns for our discerning patients because they eliminate unsightly dark lines at the gum line and they promote healthy gum tissue. For the cost conscious patients we have beautiful alternatives.

Composite Bondings and Fillings

Affordable Solution! For individuals who have chipped, cracked or irregularly shaped teeth, dental contouring and reshaping can be just the doctor orders for a more beautiful smile. Tooth reshaping, or contouring, is one of few instant treatments now available in cosmetic dentistry. Dental reshaping and contouring is a procedure to correct crooked teeth, gaps, chipped teeth, cracked teeth or even overlapping teeth in just one session. If you want your teeth to appear less crowded, fix chips and fractures, decrease overlaps, pits or grooves in the enamel, then this procedure may be for you.

With a little dental contouring, you can make a huge difference in the way you feel about your smile. Tooth reshaping, or tooth sculpting, is a safe and conservative way to improve your smile. Teeth may become weaker if large amounts of enamel are removed, tooth reshaping should be limited to minor changes or combined with veneers or bonding for the best smile.

Whitening and Veneers

Whitening and Veneers of the teeth are performed for patients who desire a brighter smile. Tooth whitening can be performed to reduce discoloration and staining, or simply to provide the patient with whiter teeth.  Teeth discoloration can be caused by staining, aging, or chemical damage to teeth. Some of the more common causes of teeth discoloration are medications, coffee, tea or cigarettes. People who drink significant amounts of cola soft drinks can experience similar staining. At Dental First Corp, we use the KOR system which is extremely effective for stubborn stains.

Aside from staining, there are other factors that can affect the color of an individual's teeth. Genetics can play a role. Some people have naturally brighter enamel than others. Disease can also be a factor and certain medications can cause a discoloration of the teeth. If you suspect that there is an underlying medical cause for your teeth discoloration, be sure to inform us. Whitening will usually bring the shade of your teeth up two to four shades lighter. If you want that white bright smile, think about getting veneers.

Veneers let you smile like a Hollywood Star! One of the easiest ways to treat teeth that are too small, too big, or have uneven surfaces is by placing veneers over the teeth. It is very common for people to have imperfect teeth, either oddly shaped teeth, chipped teeth, crooked teeth, teeth with small holes in them, or an inappropriate sized tooth or teeth that have an odd appearance. Veneers, ceramic, porcelain or plastic, are placed over the front teeth to change color and/or shape of the teeth. A straighter, whiter, fuller smile is possible without braces and usually in two visits with veneers. These porcelain restorations are lifelike in strength, beauty and function.

Occlusal Guards

Many Americans suffer from migraine pain and chronic clenching and grinding resulting in tooth damage. Our patients who suffer find relief with NTI Plus or a traditional occlusal guard. It protects your teeth from chips, cracks and wear. Wearing an occlusal guard keeps the back teeth from meeting which prevents jaw clenching and grinding. This relieves intense muscle contraction of the scalp and jaw that migraine and chronic headache sufferer’s experience during sleep. It also helps protect your teeth from damage caused by bruxing and clenching.
