Bonding - Is it right for you?

Affordable Solution! For individuals who have chipped, cracked or irregularly shaped teeth, dental contouring and reshaping with composite resin can be just the doctor orders for a more beautiful smile.

Bonding

Using a tooth-colored composite resin (think acrylic nails), we can restore decayed, chipped, fractured or discolored teeth in one visit. If there is no decay, little if any tooth structure needs to be removed.  It is a safe, conservative way to enhance your smile. The composite is literally "bonded" to the tooth, hence the name Bonding. Bonding can be a big confidence builder.  Our most popular bonding procedures are closing gaps between the two front  teeth and building up little "peg" teeth.

Bonding is great for closing small gaps. Tooth reshaping, or tooth sculpting can weaken teeth if large amounts of enamel are removed.  We limited it to minor changes. For larger gaps we may recommend, clear aligners, veneers or crowns. Many times, we use composite resin as a holistic, cosmetic alternative to amalgam (silver) fillings. People tend to prefer the composite resin but alternative restoration may be needed in some situations.  We also use composite resin to protect exposed roots from gum receding due to periodontal disease or toothbrush abrasion.

Treatment is easy!  After deciding on the shade that most matches your teeth, we use a primer and bond to adhere the composite resin to your teeth.  Then we work our talents reshaping and contouring to correct crooked teeth, gaps, chipped teeth, cracked teeth or even overlapping teeth in just one session.Tooth reshaping, or contouring with bonding is considered a cosmetic procedure and may not be covered by your insurance. If your tooth does not have decay, we cannot legally bill for a filling.  We have many different financial plans to help.
